Jonesing for Bald Eagles?

Want to see our national symbol live and in per... wait, ummm... live and in action?

Then visit one of these national wildlife refuges soon:
New York's Montezuma NWR and Iroquois NWR
Virginia's Mason Neck NWR
Florida's Chassahowitzka NWR
Tennessee's Reelfoot NWR
Missouri's Squaw Creek NWR
Nebraska's North Platte NWR
Iowa's DeSoto NWR
Minnesota's Sherburne NWR
California's Klamath Basin Refuges
Washington's Ridgefield NWR
Alaska's Kenai NWR

If you can't hit the highway, hit the Internet. You'll see two eaglets at Maryland's Blackwater NWR's Eagle Cam. The image reloads every 30 seconds.

If you know of a really good, local site, please share it in the comments!

Try the Upper Mississippi River Wildlife Refuge, from Prairie du Chien WI all the way up to Red Wing Minnesota.

In one little tiny bay of this system, right in the city of LaCrosse, it is *nothing* to count 30 or more of them hanging around. Nothing. Several nests are visible in various locations as well.

Thanks for mentioning the Upper Miss, Gwyn. In fact, that refuge appears in the March/April issue (page 52).
