Inspiring teens
Action for Nature recently honored teens around the world for their environmental work. The Young Eco-Hero Awards highlighted minors age 9 to 16 in Germany, India, Ivory Coast, Pakistan and the United States.
Their efforts included
* founding a local chapter of a pharmaceutical take-back program (P2D2)
* presenting an environmental education program to hundreds of students
* replacing trees
* campaigning against climate change
* creating a drug disposal program (Stop Throwing Out Pharmaceuticals)
* ending destructive bush fires
* removing invasive plants
* building an environmental center
