Dispatch from the desert

A long weekend in Las Vegas allowed time for avian voyeurism. My path, however, didn't cross those of many birds, mostly House Sparrows, Great-tailed Grackles and American Coots.

A beautiful Yellow-headed Blackbird foraged at Redstone Dunes, but it wouldn't allow a photo. It must be used to ducking the paparazzi.

Speaking of "ducking," this little lady willingly posed for me at the dunes. The egrets in the Bellagio's conservatory also struck poses for their many admirers.
