Images from the ivory-bill search

Steve Ingraham, Zeiss birding and naturalist product specialist, recently spent four days as a guest of Cornell's Ivory-billed Woodpecker search team in the Big Woods of Arkansas. (Zeiss supplies optics for the search.)

Ingraham shared some images to give birders a better idea of what the search team faces, day in and day out.

If you'd like to see a few more images from Arkansas, you can click here or on the Flickr badge on this page, at the bottom of the right-hand column. I didn't spend time with the search team but visited Brinkley during the Call of the Ivory-billed Woodpecker Celebration last month.

Oh, I don't know if I should look at the images or not! I was to have joined the team in a couple weeks, but life threw me a curve ball and now I'm not getting up at 4am to slop through swamps.

Darn it! Thanks for sharing these images.

"Darn it!" is right, Gwyn. I'm sorry that you're unable to join the search.
